Genetic Problems Can Be Avoided During Pregnancy if Detected at an Early Stage
DCA organizes CME on Imaging Advancements in Obstetrics & Gynecology

In an endeavor to create awareness about women health issues and imaging benefits for early detection and prevention of disease in women, Diwan Chand Diagnostic Imaging Services organized a CME (Continuing Medical Education) on “Imaging Advancements in Obstetrics & Gynecology”.
Over 100 leading Obstetrics and Gynecologist of the city attended the CME, which was addressed by internationally acclaimed radiologist specialists from Diwan Chand Diagnostic Imaging Services.
The CME’s core highlights were Infertility Imaging, Obstetrical Ultrasound, Osteoporosis, Fetal Medicine with genetic counseling, Mammography, breast imaging, Sonomammography, MRI Breast, Advanced Imaging and many other important issues of utilizing diagnostic radiological procedure for detecting problems in women.
Dr Ajay Aggarwal, Director & Radiologist, Diwan Chand Integral Health Services stressed, “There’s an increase in the cases of Osteoporosis in women over the past few years the cause being the neglect”. He stressed, “With the imaging advancements, we can diagnose osteoporosis at an early stage, which leads to its proper treatment well in time.”
Dr Harsha Navani Munshi, Radiologist, Diwan Chand Imaging Research Centre, told about the recent advances in the pre-implantation genetic diagnosis stressing on the fact that it could detect the genetic make up or defect before implantation and is useful for X-linked disorders and trisomies. She also stressed that genetic conditions can be prevented if diagnosed at the right stage of pregnancy.

Expressing an insight into infertility imaging, Dr Nitin P Ghonge, Consultant Radiologist, Diwan Chand Diagnostic Imaging Services stressed that HSG (abbreviation for the Hysterosalphingography; one of the oldest and the most widely utilized diagnostic radiological procedure) to be done on digital fluroscopy, so as to curtail the radiation risks.
